Google adwords can be a beast to master. 90% of marketers fail to use google adwords effectively. There are number of factors which need to be taken into account when starting out using adwords.
1. Research
You will need to research a market that you can profit from. Most affiliate marketers jump into google adwords targeting niches such as making money which is highly competitive. Try to think outside the box. There are a number of untapped niches which are highly searched with very low competition.
2. Finding a product.
Once you have found a niche you think you can exploit, look at affiliate programs such as clickbank or commission junction to find a product tailored for that market.
3. Keywords
You can use overture to find your keywords. Overture is a very useful free tool. Type in your keyword /s and look at the results. You will find the most searched keyword at the very top, Try not to use these as they are very competitive, try to target the searches lower down with 500 – 1000 searches per month. Once you have found some keyphrases type them into google to see how many sponsored ads are shown on the right hand side, if there are only a couple of pages then this could be a good market. Try to put your keywords into groups E.G

- golf putting tips
- [golf putting tips]
- "golf putting tips"
4. writing your Ad
You don`t get a lot of space in which to write your killer ad. Put your keyword in the title and explain the benefits in the next two lines.
5. Landing page
Your landing page needs to be relevent to what you are advertising. You will need to ensure that the keyword you are bidding on is written in your sales pitch / review. This is known as keyword density, try to aim for a keyword density of around 6%. Google will penalise ie increase your bids if they feel your landing page isn`t of suitable quality.
